Hillerød / Denmark

Hillerød is a historic town in Denmark, in the north of Copenhagen. The 17th-century Frederiksborg Castle and the Baroque Garden are experiences you won't want to miss being in town. Frederiksborg is the largest Renaissance castle in the Nordic region, a genuine fairy tale castle. The castle park consists of several beautiful spaces, of which the formal Baroque Garden is the star attraction. Frederiksborg Castle is also home to the Museum of National History. Through paintings, portraits, furniture, and a lot of handicrafts from many different stylistic periods, the museum tells the story of 500 years of Danish history. The Chapel of the Royal Orders of Knighthood at Frederiksborg Palace was something that unfortunately, on my visit, I was not able to appreciate. It so happened that on the day of my presence, it was closed due to some royal event, quite camouflaged I must say. I received the information from the guard who was blocking my way. Need to come back!
