CNMV

CNMV (Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores) means “The National Securities Market Commission”, it is the Spanish government agency responsible for the financial regulation of the securities markets in Spain. It is an independent agency that falls under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Spain. A website with more of a huge amount of content difficult to structure, a real challenge with which to work. A website that leaves little creative and visual freedom, based on functionality and the best way to display the information, taking into account the enormous, almost uncontrollable amount it has. The previous study of the entire structure, visual design and development lasted more than a year and today in 2024 it continues to operate under the same design done back in 2017 and given its complexity, I am sure it will continue like this for many more years.

The CNMV organized a public contest to redesign its website, a contest that was won by the company where I was working at the time. The idea was to go from redesigning to rethinking. Because that was indeed what the CNMV's online headquarters needed. Instead of doing a facelift, what was done was a new, simpler website, with the content most visited by users (obtained from existing analytics) and with clear access to the different sections. In addition, the old website has been maintained as a "CNMV archive" with a search engine to access older content not included in the new version.
