Rome / Italy

Rome, the Eternal City, the capital and largest city of Italy and of the Lazio region. Famous for being the home of the ancient Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita (the sweet life), the Vatican City and Three Coins in the Fountain. The third most visited city in Europe and the fourteenth worldwide. A place of great beauty, contrast and life. One you always want to come back and discover more corners! Just keep in mind that Rome gets very crowded, and some sights like the Vatican museums are both overwhelming and overwhelmed with other visitors. If you want to avoid the biggest crowds, visit Rome in the lower season, April-May and late September-October are the best months to visit Rome weather-wise, but it's also extremely busy in that period. Visiting Rome during the cooler months is best if you want to avoid the heat, the crowds, and save some money on accommodation. Whatever you do, above all avoid the Easter and summer season.
