Portraits in Black & White
I am always struck by the feeling that a portrait can produce. I intend to make visible what is invisible but what can be experienced and felt. As a photographer my attention focuses on the emotions that a person is able to evoke with just a look or their body language. Mostly I am inspired by the melancholy that human beings can communicate in a single frame. My main centre of attention always tends to go to the eyes and my passion, above all, is black and white photography. In the realm of black and white photography, the eyes hold a singular fascination. Stripped of color, they become portals to the soul, conveying a profound depth of emotion and character. The interplay of light and shadow accentuates the intricate details of the iris and the delicate lines around the eyes, unveiling a world of subtle nuance. In this monochromatic medium, the eyes stand as the focal point, guiding the viewer's gaze and telling stories that transcend time and space. Through the lens of black and white, these windows to the human spirit become timeless and iconic, capturing the essence of a moment in shades of gray.
